WOW. Caught my knee injury on tape

Yep. All the years on bodybuilding and lifting weights should have installed a filter against me destroying my knee like i did. Here is the short story.

We were working on promo videos for our website, http://www.i-Supplements.com. Josh and I were testing some camera angles etc… and I had the brilliant idea that it would be cool to film one of our signature “Don’t Forget The Dash” endings with someone dropping down from above, kinda 3D like. So I had Josh lie on the ground and film and i proceeded to go flying off the third step on some metal bleachers to land right over the camera.

However – my right knee completely failed ! … about 10″ from the rolling camera. You will hear three steps on the metal bleachers (that is my 39 yr old, stupid a#! getting ready to sky in the air) to land over the camera man. Then you hear the CRUNCH of my knee. (My ACL, MCL and Miniscus to be specific)

What you hear is real. It’s the sound of my ligaments snapping. This has probably not been caught on hi def audio very often! lol

Be sure to watch part 1 first.

This clip makes me immediately want to go kiss miss wife Julie.  I would completely wig in this situation.  If you know me – I do not like it when I don’t get my way.

I guess the lesson you can take from this is to never give up on people – especially on the ones you love.

What the Foo?

When Jim and Schwartz Labs asked me to share my story I was excited. I was excited to share the news of a company and product line that finally made sense and delivered unmatched results without the hype and lies most companies feed bodybuilders every day.

My name is Jason Foo and my journey began in May of 2002. I had been lifting and bodybuilding for years and had an itch to get on stage and compete. I had recently moved tofrontview Cincinnati and was searching out the bodybuilding community and kept hearing about “The Schwartz”. I found out that “The Schwartz” was the slang name for a company called Schwartz Laboratories. After a little surfing online I found out that the company is huge in Europe and has been spreading like fire here in the US. Since they where located right in Cincinnati I paid them a visit.

The Staff at Schwartz was great. They spent time educating me on proper diet and the their product line. Together we worked up a 60-day plan to gain some muscle and picked a show in the Fall. I was thrilled because for the first time I felt confident in a company and was ready to go.  After only 10 days on the program I felt AMAZING. My strength was incredible and the “pumps” during my workouts felt like I was going to bust through my skin. The combination of HyperCell2 and Anabolic Power Stack was awesome. Then came the gains. In the first month I had beaten every personal best in the gym and I had gained 16 lbs!

roof db biTen weeks before the show I began my pre-contest diet. By this time, I had bulked up to 252 lbs and had picked up an amazing 26 lbs of muscle. Now it was time to get ripped! We changed my diet a few times over the ten weeks and it was unreal how quickly the fat began to fall off. I have tried every “thermogenic” and “fat burner” on the market and nothing has dumped fat while sparing my lean tissue like Rippilater and Ultimate Burn. We alternated both in my pre-contest strategy.  I had tried to diet for a show in the past but always gave up because I would lose too much size and strength. On “The Schwartz” I was still GAINING muscle 6 weeks out from my show.

The show day came and I was ready. Thanks to Schwartz Laboratories I stepped on stage razor sharp and confident. The show was huge and the competition was great. I walked away with 2nd place and can’t wait to do it again. Thanks Schwartz!

My advice is stop reading every hype article and ad you see in the magazines and running out to pay crazy prices for products that simply don’t work. Remember, supplement companies own those publications! Get true quality and performance without the hype from Schwartz Laboratories. I love the way the company puts it: “If we don’t have it, you don’t need it”. It’s True.

Quick Tips For A Fit Pregnancy

pregnant womanRecently one of my clients a Power 3 Fitness Coaching announced she was pregnant.  While working on her program a couple of different people seemed interested and suprised at a couple of my thoughts regarding a fit pregnancy.  So I decided I would share them with my readers.

Here is a portion of the Personal Program:

Notes and Reminders: (for our special time!!!!)

  • Keep the fluids coming – I recommend 1 gallon (128oz) per day.  FYI – slightly higher than the official RDA which is 3 liters per day while pregnant and 3.8 liters per day while lactating. (Why do THEY use liters?)
  • Wow. Did you know that the most conservative RDA numbers for protein consumption for pregnant women is 71 grams a day! – GET THIS DONE – I have strong convictions on this one.  I believe a better number to shoot for is about 100 grams.
  • Carbs are critical as well. The same conservative numbers say the RDA 175 grams pregnant and 210 grams when lactating.
  • Fiber Needs are up slightly as well-  28 grams.
  • Fats are always on my list of things to do.  RDA’s are elevated for you at this time too.  I love Carlson’s Finest Fish Oil .
  • I recommend – as always – precook healthy foods you enjoy – preventing the convenient munching of random garbage and sugar
  • Take and Daily Vitamin  with the correct dose of Folic Acid.

This is not a full  list of all the tips for a fit pregnancy.  These are just a few that I pointed to to this client.

Babies Are Awesome.  Have fun.

Hey, Biggs in Cincinnati – Not Smart !

The Evil Isle 13I have seen this isle before and finally remembered to get a picture of it.  I find huge irony in this.

Soooo, let me get this straight.  You stock the diabetic products, the stuff made for those with dangerous sensitivities to sugar, side by side with the very products they should avoid.  It is at times like this I almost want to freak.  It’s as if the temptation on every street corner, at every checkout, on every ad isn’t enough.  When a diabetic trys to make a choice for a product designed to help them — Let’s walk them down an isle of sugar indulgences.  Hey, I got an idea let’s only sell Nicorette Gum and Nicotine Patches at  tobacco shops …

Idiots.

Let’s face it people. For some reason Arnold still rules all. There have been bigger and leaner but for some reason they all pale to the master. I have watched pumping iron so many times I literally wore out the VHS tape (got the DVD now).

To watch this video is to walk sacred ground.

To many of you a few seconds of the video and you will be bored. For my gyms dogs, meat-heads and ironjackers turn up the volume and get your head right to go train!  To the family a Power 3 Fitness Coaching – you guys are awesome – the best personal training studio in Cincinnati.

Someone Is Training Harder,
Jim

Are Any of These YOU?

is-it-youI have owned my own business since i was 19 years old.  In those years I have found the following cancerous personalities in my company.

If you are a business owner – purge them.  They will rot your business.

If you are an part of a company team – don’t let it be you.  You’ll get purged : )

  • The Excuse Artist — Misses every deadline and goal, but always seems to be ready with a good excuse or to place blame and point fingers at others.
  • The Short-Changer — Late to work, early to leave, “stretched” lunches, extended breaks … this person makes an art out of shortening and short-changing the workday, while leaving coworkers “holding the bag”!
  • The Intimidator — Everyone’s tip-toeing around this person, lest they incur wrath and anger! The Intimidator uses fear and bullying tactics to control coworkers and can single-handedly ruin an entire team.
  • The Gossip — Behind closed doors, over the grapevine, and under the radar, they’re waging verbal warfare … personal attacks, rumors, carping, and criticism are the tools of their trade!
  • The Clod — This one is ill-mannered, opinionated, and obnoxious. Everyone else is always apologizing and making amends for the rude and thoughtless behavior of The Clod … behavior that often results in lost business, ruined relationships, and stressful working conditions.
  • The Downer — No matter what, this person is unhappy … for this pessimist, the glass is always half-empty. The Downer maintains a consistently negative, stifling presence and constantly spreads the bad news to everyone else.
  • The Minimalist — Apathetic and low-performing … these unmotivated workers can be counted on to give the bare minimum (or even less). They make an art out of turning in mediocre performances that are poor enough to frustrate managers … but passable enough to keep them employed!
  • The Soap Star — Their continuing “soap opera” of problems not only hurts their own productivity, but distracts sympathetic coworkers who get drawn into their never-ending predicaments and problems.
  • The Itch — They need constant attention, reassurance, and feedback … and take so much energy and time to manage, you often find yourself sacrificing your job responsibilities to help them meet theirs!
  • The Smarty-Pants — Challenges your management authority openly and forcefully, constantly questions management decisions, and creates a harmful undercurrent of “anti-management” chatter.
